Kathryn -

I couldn't agree more- and what's amazing is how far even a little bit of appreciation goes. Everyone wants to know that what they do brings value, and that their contribution to the group is valued in return.

Thanks so much for commenting!

I privately contract to medical offices for management consultation and patient account management and this is one of the hardest things to get across to some Employers. They are use to accepting the low hourly wage as a norm and often hiring people who don't have the right skills for their practice. The frustrating thing is when they hire someone for a low hourly wage and they are GOOD they don't do anything positive to try and keep them. A thank you at the end of the day goes a long way. Involving them in office meetings that actually allow them to voice an opinion and better still a solution to a problem that continues to occur that the employer may not even know is happening. Employers value your staff! When they feel appreciated they own their job and will work to do it even better.

Sheila-

That is awesome! Earning a paycheck and supporting your family are certainly big rewards of working, but feeling satisfied by and appreciated in what you do is just about priceless. If people in your organization sound like you Sheila, then they should be on the right track.

Thanks for commenting!
