About
I’ve worked in healthcare management for 25 years.
I am Board Certified in Healthcare Management and a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. I’ve worked in almost every medical specialty in primary, secondary, and tertiary care, as well as having experience in the non-profit sector. My passions are technology, customer service and revenue cycle management.
I am the Practice Administrator for Halifax Regional Medical Center, a hospital in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. I manage primary care and occupational medicine clinics, as well as a hospitalist group and the physician billing office.
I am the founder and editor of this blog, which I started in July 2008 to provide medical practice managers a place to find resources and information. The site is typically updated semi-weekly, sometimes daily, and older posts are updated if the information becomes out-of-date.
This blog is vendor-neutral. I do not accept money or services for any listings, posts or mentions. I do not accept advertising. I provide all funding for this site personally. Everything on this blog is here because it is something I found to be interesting or useful.
I am interested in helping others whenever possible and am particularly interested in partnering with others to brainstorm and find new solutions in healthcare management. I am glad to answer your practice management questions and do small scale phone consulting at no charge. I enjoy writing articles, giving my opinions on healthcare and technology topics and I am open to doing webinars where attendees are not charged. I do very limited speaking engagements.
I welcome your comments or questions about this blog or practice management issues at marypatwhaley@gmail.com.
